Eco-Adventures is currently hiring Captains for our EcoTours operating out of Ma’alaea and Lahaina harbors on the beautiful island of Maui.

Captains are responsible for the safety of all passengers and crew, the safe operation of the vessel, and managing, leading and mentoring crew members.

Our ideal candidates have strong mechanical/preventive maintenance/troubleshooting skills, are great at teaching and mentoring crew, have strong situational awareness and decision-making skills, excellent judgment, and can remain calm under pressure. 100T license and valid credentials required. Experience navigating Maui country waters is a plus.

(BLT) is now hiring a Water Taxi Captain. We are seeking an outgoing, OUPV Licensed (6-pack), Limited OUPV, or Master 25T Captain for the operation and transportation of our visitors, guests and both commercial and residential tenants, across the West Branch channel in Stamford Harbor, aboard the Harbor Point Water Taxi (Pontoon Vessel).

Duties and Responsibilities of the Water Taxi Captain:

Operate uninspected vessel of less than 100 GRT (gross register tons), equipped with propulsion machinery, carrying six or fewer passengers
Perform daily operational inspection(s); including and not limited to; vessel cleanliness, engine performance, oil level(s), navigational lights, horn, fuel, battery, hull, lines, fenders, additional lighting, Bimini frame & cover
Fuel vessel, add oil, change battery, and lightbulbs, if necessary
Perform daily safety inspection(s); including and not limited to; All safety equipment, such as life vest(s), Life ring(s), Lifeline/Buoy, VHF Radio, navigational lights, first-aid equipment, capable of operating and inspecting fire extinguisher(s), ladder deployment/retrieval, anchor deployment and setting
Management of daily reports; including trips, maintenance, fuel, passenger activity, other statistical demands, and incidents
Maintain vessel in excellent condition, inspect and cover vessel at end of each shift
Maintain a clean, pleasant, and safe atmosphere for all including team members
Greeting all visitors, guests and tenants with exceptional care and providing five-star customer service; including answering any questions and providing local knowledge and information, as requested

Requirements of the Water Taxi Captain:

Active/Current OUPV License (6-pack), Limited OUPV, or (Higher) Master 25T
Enrolled in Drug and Alcohol (DOT) approved testing program (or willingness to enroll in company sponsored program, mandatory pre-hire screening/testing)
Drug and Alcohol – spot check and shift testing
Swimming is mandatory
Candidate must be able to lift 40lbs
VHF radio knowledge/Etiquette
Capacity to maintain poise in a high impact, dynamic work environment
Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends (Mandatory), holidays (Mandatory), and extended hours (if needed) to support all programs and events
Training and Certification in First Aid, CPR, Vessel Fire Safety Knowledge, and “Man overboard” sequence a plus (Not Required)

Job Description
The primary responsibility of this position is to maximize the customer experience by maintaining a safe and positive work environment for the parasail staff and guests. This person will ensure the highest level of customer service, safety, quality and consistency while at all times driving sales and controlling costs. This person must also maintain the parasail fleet to the highest quality while minimizing all hazards and dangers related to parasailing.

Job Responsibilities
Operates and navigates boats according to state regulations and Aramark procedures
Effectively communicates with office supervisor to coordinate parasail flights.
Maintain schedules for all Parasailing flights
Maintains clean work area on the parasail boat and in storage areas.
Guide guests and staff on boating safety procedures
Maintain knowledge of company vessels and may instruct customers on boat operation
Clean, maintain, fuel, and perform minor maintenance on vessels
Facilitate a clean and safe environment, reporting any maintenance issues or unsafe conditions to management
Adhere to safety policies and procedures
Greet customers and assist with inquires or concerns while anticipating the customers’ needs
Maintain all regulatory documentation for each vessel
Maintains excellent customer service and positive attitude towards guest, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
Other duties and tasks as assigned by manager
Qualifications
• Minimum of 6 pax captain license
• Previous experience as a parasail captain highly desired
• Weekend/holiday availability
• Maintain current First Aid and CPR approved cards
• Previous customer service experience preferred
• Comfortability working outdoors, on water, and in high temperatures.
• Frequent standing, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling greater than 50 lbs.
• Must be able to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks and exposure to hazardous chemicals
