Safely transports guests to and from Glacier Point. Gives a boat safety speech and ensures guest compliance. Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of the boat.
MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures guests experience the “E.X.C.U.R.S.I.O.N. of a lifetime†by being attentive to the needs and/or wants of the guests, answering any and all questions guests may have throughout the excursion, and notifying management of unhappy guests and/or obtaining guests’ information for management to contact them
Safely transports guests to and from Glacier Point while adhering to the timing of the tour (including before and after)
Provides guests with accurate, quality information throughout the duration of the excursion
Assures the safety of the guests by conducting a pre-trip inspection daily, driving at a safe rate of speed at all times, assisting guests into and out of the boat, reviewing safety guidelines with the guests, and ensuring children stay with their parents at all times
Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the boat and fueling as needed
Assists in preforming maintenance tasks on the boat by immediately fixing boat problems (if possible) and reporting any issues Maintenance
Communicates accurate information to the appropriate staff when required and as needed (radioing in the guest count to Glacier Point, radioing to the office when appropriate, communicating with the dock, etc.)
Transports supplies to and from Glacier Point as needed

Room and Board
We offer optional affordable company housing to our staff members in Juneau and Skagway and Haines. Depending on the location, rents range about $60-$150 per week with utilities included. Rent as well as a refundable housing deposit is deducted directly from paychecks, so no money is needed upfront. Most cell phone services work here, but we encourage staff members to check with their carriers before arrival.
Staff members residing in one of our cabin locations may be required to complete an outdoors skills class upon arrival. This course covers the fundamentals of living outdoors and covers topics such as, but not limited to, keeping wood dry, starting a fire, garbage control, and how to avoid attracting wildlife.

A professionally qualified, experienced tradesperson as well as a commander of a vessel. • Culture & Values : Being a Cycleboat Crewmember can be a very enjoyable position for those who like interacting with their passengers and sharing their knowledge of the Boston Harbor.
• Responsibilities: SEEKING LICENSED BOAT CAPTAINS- mature, detail-oriented, licensed Captains for our three USCG Certified 16, 24 & 26 passenger cycleboat vessels with auxiliary outboard motor. Candidates will operate 1 ½ hr Boston Inner Harbor tours with an assisting crewmember. Captains will supervise and assist crewmember when needed in daily setup, passenger boarding and supervision, routine maintenance and end of day cleanup. The Captain will have final responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
• Requirements: Must have USCG Master Captain’s License 25 ton minimum, knowledge of Coast Guard safety procedures and Emergency Drills to ensure safety of all passengers and crew members, be able to comply with Coast Guard requirements including drug and alcohol program, CPR and First Aid certification, Transportation Workers Identification TWIC Card. Applicants should have good interpersonal skills, and enjoy interaction with passengers. A general knowledge of or desire to learn and share details of the history and point of interest of the Boston Harbor will be helpful. A strong focus on safety and a desire to deliver friendly service is very important.
• Job Types & Season: Mid April thru October full-time or part-time positions available – Some weekend and holiday availability is required.
• Pay: $30/hr + tips that can be very generous – Tips are divided equally between Captain and Assistant
• Schedule: Shifts set weekly can vary from 3.5hrs to 12hrs per day with an attempt to accommodate but can not guarantee crewmembers scheduling preferences. Some weekend and holiday availability is required.

Paddlewheel Boat Captain Webster, Massachusetts.
Full or part time position for a busy tour boat operation. Boat is 125 passenger, double decked authentic paddle wheeler. USGC 100 ton Master license and experience with twin engine, large boat handling is required. The gross weight of this boat is 52 ton and is driven by 2 Cummins engines. Twin (split) paddles located aft measure 12′ diameter x 4′ wide. As a tourist expects, a clear concise narration of the lake must be presented for each trip so a pleasant personality is required. It is measured at a little over 1400 acres with 17 miles of shoreline.
The boat schedule varies with private and public tours. Typically the boat tours the lake 5-6 days a week with as many as 2-3 trips per day. Busy and energetic atmosphere. If you love music the boat is located at a concert venue on the lake. Housing available if coming from out of state. Season runs May through October but start and end dates may be flexible.
