Seeking an experienced training captain for 6-month live-aboard or day-work contract to provide hands-on education to two owners of a new Nordhavn 625 single-engine trawler. Focus: Build confidence of the yacht

Key ResponsibilitiesOne-on-One Training: Personalized instruction for owners with varying experience levels.
Vessel Familiarization: Cover mechanical (Lugger engine, generator, hydraulics), electrical, plumbing, navigation electronics, and safety systems.
Boat Handling: Practical skills in docking, anchoring, close-quarters maneuvering, and various conditions.
Navigation & Planning: Passage planning, charts, tides/currents, COLREGS.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Daily checks, routine upkeep, basic diagnostics/repairs.
Safety Procedures:

We operate a 90-ft luxury motor yacht based in Fort Lauderdale offering day charters (4–8 hrs), overnight/short cruises (1–8 days within ~150 nm), and extended charters (3+ weeks’ planning). We run a professional crew of 2–4 and seek an experienced full-time Captain to lead operations, safety, guest relations, and navigation.
Responsibilities: Command vessel; manage crew, maintenance, and provisioning; oversee charters and itineraries; ensure safety, compliance, and logs.
Requirements: USCG Master 200 Ton (MMC & Medical Cert), STCW Basic Safety, TWIC preferred, 3–5 yrs command on similar yachts, charter experience ideal, engineering skills a plus.

Pick up our passengers at the Bayside Marina Pier 4 and bring them to the Biscayne Bay near pelican boat ramp. After they’re 1 hour jet ski ride return them back to Bayside Marina

Drive the boat. Need to move the boat from Ft Lauderdale to Punta Gorda safely and efficiently.

We’re seeking a USCG Licensed Captain for a 45′ sailing yacht. This seasonal role involves safely skippering the vessel for adult sailing lessons and scenic cruises. Your primary responsibility is the safety of all on board and the boat’s navigation.

​You’ll collaborate with a US Sailing Certified Instructor who handles the curriculum, while you ensure all operations adhere to USCG regulations. You must have an OUPV license, current First Aid/CPR, a TWIC card, and significant experience captaining similar vessels.

​This role demands exceptional seamanship, weather monitoring skills, and a professional, customer-focused attitude. Local Peconic Bay knowledge is desirable.

The vessel is a 100’ Giorgetti & Magrini ketch-rigged sailing yacht with accommodations for 12 students and 6 staff. Staff quarters are separate from students and are in shared cabins with a shared bathroom.

This is a year round position with up to 30-days of PTO from the vessel.

Students will be onboard 30-35 weeks per year. During expeditions, expect a 7-day work week with days off in port. The vessel may be chartered during off weeks.

The Captain is responsible for manning the vessel in between student expeditions. While students are not onboard, there is a standard 5-day work week.

Minimum Qualifications:
USCG 100-Ton Master License
5+ years as Captain / Master of a sailing vessel
Passion for at-risk Youth
