Job Summary:
The captain is responsible for the safety and well-being of both the crew and passengers, and the safe and efficient operation and management of the vessel. The captain oversees operations and maintenance of all on-board equipment including machinery, engines and safety equipment and monitors the daily progress of the vessel to complete the voyage in a most efficient manner.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Must obtain charter boat license per L&I regulations & US Coast Guard
• Basic understanding of Square, Fareharbor Booking System, and freight software
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to speak with large groups of people.
• Certified Mail Carrier for USPS would be nice to have.
Working Conditions:
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Flexible work schedule including weekends and evenings.
• Pay range, hourly: $21 – $29 DOE.

The Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park (AMM), a non-profit museum in the Eastport community of Annapolis, seeks a skilled, organized, and knowledgeable individual, to oversee the maintenance and restoration of the museum’s wooden boat collection and to provide leadership to the volunteer team through hands-on restoration work and preservation program management.

Job Description:
The Wooden Boat Program Coordinator is responsible for restoring and maintaining the museum’s collection of traditional wooden vessels on the hard, by leading a team of volunteers. The museum’s current collection includes eight historic wooden boats ranging in size from 20’ to 50’ (excludes skipjack Wilma Lee). This is a part-time contractual position – roughly 5-15 hours per week, located at either Museum Campus located in Eastport – 723 Second Street Annapolis, MD 21403 and/or Park Campus, 7300 Edgewood Road, Annapolis.

Duties of the position include:
• Developing a maintenance and repair plan for the museum’s collection of vessels.
• Enlisting a marine surveyor for boat assessments and plans.
• Coordinating repair work with marine surveyors and trades experts when required.
• Hosting and leading regular hands-on training days for new and existing volunteers.
• Managing the activities and schedules for volunteers dedicated to the restoration work.
• Maintaining tools, supplies, and workspaces to facilitate volunteer workdays.
• Facilitating camaraderie and communication among crew volunteers.
• Provide monthly progress reports to Volunteer Coordinator.

Hours: Contractual part-time (15 hours per week), year-round with flexible hours
Travel: No travel required.
