Part time position for a busy tour boat operation. Boat is 125 passenger, double decked authentic paddle wheeler. USGC 100 ton Master license and experience with twin engine, large boat handling is required. The gross weight of this boat is 52 ton and is driven by 2 Cummins engines. Twin (split) paddles located aft measure 12′ diameter x 4′ wide Additional skills required is knowing the mechanics of the boat and being able to address mechanical issues. As a tourist expects, a clear concise narration of the lake must be presented for each trip so a pleasant personality is required. It is measured at a little over 1400 acres with 17 miles of shoreline. The boat schedule varies with private and public tours. typically the boat tours the lake 5-6 days a week with as many as 3 trips per day.

MarineLab uses discovery and adventure to teach students and teachers about the ecology and stewardship of the marine environment. We need an experienced, outgoing, self-directed Captain to keep our fleet of boats safe and reliable, coordinate a team of part time captains to drive our students and instructors out to snorkel in the seagrass, mangroves, and coral reef communities, and to demonstrate the highest skill in boat operations through example and training.
The MarineLab Lead Captain will be responsible for ensuring that our fleet is ready at all times to support the MarineLab mission. The fleet consists of four 26′ Twin Vees and one 29′ Twin Vee. A new 30’ Alpha Cat has been ordered.
Job duties include the following:
Driving a boat with students, teachers, and instructors Approximately 50% of the time
Maintaining boats and ensuring they can pass USCG inspections Approximately 25% of the time
Recruiting, training, and scheduling captains Approximately 25% of the time
This is a full-time salaried position, including paid holidays, paid time off, employer-provided health insurance, retirement contribution, and a flexible work schedule. The normal work week is 40 hours.

Barton and Gray Mariners Club is looking for full-time yacht captains in Palm Beach, FL. Must have USCG Master (50 ton preferred).
