Membership includes a fleet of crewed Hinckley Yachts with unlimited access to the entire fleet in 26 different locations. Watersports if hiring a captain for our larger 60ft+ catamarans out of key west bight. Experience a plus, but training available.
The boats are as follows:
Party Cat (65ft inboard motor catamaran):
Runs a 6 hour, all-inclusive day trip that includes Kayaking, Jet skiing, parasailing, etc. Pays $150 + $1 per passenger (trip max is 120). Also runs a 2 hour dinner cruise. Pays $70. Both include tips.

Sandie cat (65ft inboard powered sailing catamaran):
Runs two 3 hour trips to the reef and one 2 hour dinner cruise. Pay is $70 per trip plus tips.
Miss Lora (60ft motor catamaran):
Runs two 3 hour dolphin. Pay is $70 per trip plus tips.

Sarasota Florida need part time Captain with 50 ton license familiar with West Coast water ways. Three days minimum to pilot 70 ft Azimut with 3 pods. Job will consist of training waterways from Sarasota to Naples to Tampa. To include trips from Sarasota to Bahamas, Key West. Owner has experience but wants training with electronics, Docking and navigation of waterways.

Job Description Summary
The Captain – Inland, under general direction, is responsible for the safe navigation and operation of University vessels in inland waters, serving as vessel master; supervises students and trains them on safe operation practices and safe maneuvering of vessels through various situations.
Qualifications
Required Education:
High School Diploma or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Experience:
One year of post-Master’s license relevant industry experience.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Transportation, Maritime Administration, Marine Systems Engineering or related field.
Preferred Experience:
Three years post licensure of relevant industry experience.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
Current and valid Transportation Identification Card (TWIC). Current and valid class C vehicle driver license. Current and valid 100-ton Master’s license-Inland or greater. Ability to obtain US Powerboat Instructor Certification within 1 year.
Preferred Licenses and Certifications:
None.

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to troubleshoot marine engines and electronics. Ability to work with computer and related software. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Supervisory/management skills. Ability to safely navigate vessels in a crowded waterway, ability to use electronic data methods for scheduling, maintenance records, and business operations. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Ability to operate motor vehicles and tow trailers.

Job Responsibilities
40%: Operational Leadership
Serves as a Vessel Master and navigates vessels safely and skillfully on inland waters. Serves as a Mate on offshore voyages. Provides operational leadership for their directed area of responsibility and onboard the vessel of which they are the master. Maintains a positive working environment and relationships with other colleagues and units on campus. Responsible for the fiduciary oversight of budgets and operations in their area of responsibility in accordance with published processes, rules, policies and law. Ensures the overall safety of the vessel and all persons onboard. Ensures operational readiness and maintenance of vessels. Ensures crew is properly trained. Responsible for discipline of direct report personnel. Coordinates logistics with all shore side personnel and port officials. Responds to emergencies as directed. Will require the use of a University owned vehicle around the shipyard.
30%: Maintenance
Manages and directs assigned personnel in the operations and maintenance of assigned vessels. Adds items to the Maintenance Data System and assigns maintenance items to yourself and assigned personnel. Maintains a list of daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly preventative maintenance items on each boat and complete them on time. Supervises the completion of maintenance tasks. Submits application for inspection with USCG. Ensures that the vessels meet inspection criteria and perform the inspection with the USCG. Solicits bids from shipyards. Supervises shipyard and inspection activities.
15%: Administration
Schedules and documents emergency drills as required by USCG. Ensures Emergency Procedures, Safety Speech, Captain’s Checklist, Operations Manuals, and Hurricane Plans are reviewed and updated annually. Ensures vessel documentations, in paper and electronic form, are current and correct. Updates charts, and required nautical publications regularly. Completes timely employee evaluations and job qualification requirement documentations. Manages budget for assigned area of responsibility and submit monthly expense reports. Creates syllabus, gather/ create training aids, and report attendance for WAVE LLC classes.
10%: Training
Performs emergency drills as required by USCG. Develops and updates training materials and delivers training to internal and external personnel. Assists with vessel operator training program for TAMUG. Trains personnel on their responsibilities. Assist with the instruction of WAVE LLC classes
5%: Other Duties
Performs other duties as assigned.
