Job Description:

Seeking a part time Licensed Captain for a privately owned small 36.5 foot Pursuit located in Deerfield Beach. Starting late April. $200 for an up to 8 hour boat trip and $250+ for over 8 hours. General duties included: The ability to operate, clean and maintain the boat while overseeing the safety of all passengers on board for day and evening trips. Knowledge of area waters for Intracoastal cruising. Handle of stock and inventory while assisting in Daily Logs and Reports, managing First Mate and making sure that all documentation and Licenses are current and up to date. Job Description:

This privately owned 50’ Marquis, Triple IPS Drive, vessel is docked at owner’s home in Ft. Lauderdale. The selected candidate should have own residence in Ft Lauderdale area as he/she will not live on boat, or in home.
Vessel duties will include piloting the vessel when in use by owner as well as maintaining engine and mechanicals; keeping vessel clean – inside and out, including staterooms and baths, and provisioning The vessel will be brought to Long Island, NY, for summer months. Lodging for the Captain will be provided when out of Ft Lauderdale vicinity. The captain is sole crew member.

Household duties:
The captain will be responsible for ensuring that the home is maintained and kept up to standard and that everything is in working order when the owner and his family is in residence. This is accomplished by overseeing the maintenance, upkeep of the house, and pitching in to ensure it’s accomplished. This includes coordinating with other vendors who may provide services, as well as being personally responsible for maintaining deck and pool areas; keeping grounds neat and clean at all times, and providing light maintenance duties as needed.

The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications, skills and characteristics:
Licensed and experienced captaining a similar vessel, and able to provide references
Be able to communicate in English
Have valid driver’s license
Be authorized for employment in US
Non-smoker
Microsoft Office experience (Word, Outlook) would be a plus
And must be personable and able to interact with owner, owner’s family and friends in a positive, helpful and friendly manner at all times.

Im in process of buying a used 55″ 1990 Viking Motor yacht. She will be berthed on North or south shore of the Long Island. Glen Cove, bayshore, TBD.
Im now a single dad who lost my wife to Brain cancer in August at the young age of 43! Wife and I lived aboard our Motor Sailor until we learned she was sick.. with are little 31/2 little girl who loves the water too. I spent the last 3 years as a full time care giver to both of my girls…
Im not 64 years old and still want my little one to have the boating life style. I will close on this boat in April/May and would like a person to help me run, move vessel from time to time, maybe take day trips with the family etc. ( Im living in Florida with my daughter ) but my family and adult kids live on Long Island. So, Im trying to make the boat are summer home for as long as I can. Since buying a house on Long Island to use 3 months a year is out of the question.
I have a very limited budget but am reaching out to as many captains as I can to try and create a long relationship with one.
In the fall Im hoping to run her down to Carolina or even maybe Florida. If this is at all of interest to you, please let me know what we may be able to work out.
