Seeking a full-time captain to operate private scenic tours aboard a 27′ luxury deck boat. Tours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. 7 days/week. It’s a short season, so we have to make the most of any tours we can book. Captain will also serve as the general manager and administrator – i.e. answer the company cell phone, book reservations, handle re-bookings for weather issues, sell tours, act as a tour guide, keep the boat clean, refill with fuel, etc. It’s an easy, fun business primarily serving tourists in the Colorado High Country. Company shirts, jacket, hat provided. Background check and references will be required. If you are an experienced crew member that can handle a boat, we may be interested in talking to you as well. This includes the launching and retrieving of member owned boats , scheduling of launches and retrieves, conducting monthly billing and conducting monthly maintenance inspections of the boats in the program. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience trailering and launching/retrieving boats, superb boat handling skills, excellent organizational and logistical skills, and top-notch customer service skills. A USCG OUPV Captains License is not required but certainly a plus and would open up the opportunity to run occasional sightseeing and/or family fishing charters.

Job Description:

The NESS USCG Licensed Captain – Marine Science & Adventure Sports (MSAS) Educator helps New England Science & Sailing Foundation (NESS) implement high quality programming with an active, hands-on, experientially oriented marine science-based lessons. Programs are for students ages 11-17 in subjects such as powerboating, fishing, surfing, and adventure sports. Qualified applicants will hold at minimum an OUPV 6-Pack license issued by the US Coast Guard. They will be passionate, motivated, able to work within a team as well as on their own and have proven skills working with children of all ages. MSAS Educators will be assigned to support NESS programs based on educational background and previous experience.
