We are seeking a professional person to serve as the Yacht Captain on a 56 ft motor yacht. The successful candidate is responsible to maintain the appearance of the vessel which includes driving, directing daily activities, cleaning, custodial work, and assisting with docking and undocking; will uphold the strictest safety standards; and will maintain a professional and friendly demeanor. In addition there will be property management duties for three properties as needed. This position will work directly for Dr. Armando Bardisa.

The following duties are expected on a day to day basis. Other duties may be assigned.

Provide direction to daily activities
Provide exceptional hospitality to guests and coworkers
Maintain the cleanliness and safety of all common areas
Sweep, mop, and wash down decks to remove dirt, and debris, using brooms, mops, brushes, and hoses
Load or unload materials from vessel
Handle lines to moor vessels to pier
Stand watch in ships’ bows, sterns, or bridge wings in order to look for obstructions in a ship’s path or to locate navigational aids such as buoys and lighthouses
Operate and maintain ship equipment such as engines and generators, winches, and HVAC systems
Chip and clean rust spots on decks, superstructures, and sides of ships, using wire brushes and hand or air chipping machines

Minimum Requirements:

2 years of First Mate job experience

Required Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent
3 years experience in related job functions

Detailed Version: The Coxswain reports to the Operations Manager or other person designated by APS Management. The Coxswain is responsible for performing all the duties listed below and all other tasks and assignments as directed by the Operations Manager or APS Management. Decontamination of oil spill response equipment.
Clean and maintain all vessels in an orderly condition. This involves:

Properly disposing of garbage. Inventory oil spill response supplies and equipment as directed.
Clean the storage area designated for oil spill response supplies and equipment as directed.
Clean and inspect the oil spill response equipment as directed. Complete Sounding and Security rounds as directed
Maintain permanent and response boom as directed. This involves:
Inspection and Cleaning of permanent boom in the water or on land as directed by the Operations Manager.
Inspection and cleaning of response boom on land as directed by the Operations Manager.
Removal of permanent or response boom from the water.
Deployment of permanent or response boom into the water. Disposal of permanent boom from the water to disposal area.
Disposal of response boom from the water to disposal area.
Deliver/Retrieve Paint Maintenance Barges (PMB) from/to Navy vessels.
Splice and assist in the splicing of tie-up and mooring lines.
Inspecting the vessel’s safety equipment or assist other personnel as directed.
Manning lines necessary for mooring vessels (Line handling as a collateral duty).
Assist in the fueling of vessels
Wipe up oil spills, and grease on decks immediately. Do not hose oil overboard; wipe up with rags.
Report immediately to the Operations Manager, incidents, problems, weaknesses, hazards or unsafe conditions which could cause damage to the vessel or other vessels or harm to crew members, passengers, and others.
Perform tasks may include scraping, chipping and painting of hulls and decks, cleaning tasks, misc. painting, etc. Cooperate with the other crew members, help them by assisting them in doing their tasks and always strive to perform assigned duties and tasks promptly and efficiently.
Participate in Emergency Recall Notification via home phone, cell phone, text, or voice notification. Ensure current contact phone information is provided to the Operations Manager.

Position Summary:

The Captain directs the vessel’s activities and operates the vessel safely and efficiently while supervising onboard crew. This position serves as the primary contact onboard the vessel with the USCG concerning compliance with laws and regulations. The Captain administers training and drills aboard the vessel, and this position ensures a high level of customer service is provided, all while directly supervising Deckhand(s) onboard the vessel. The Captain also has a responsibility to provide support to other crew in designated area expertise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Direct the onboard ferry’s activities and ensure our riders’ safety and security while the vessel is underway.
Operate the vessel at safe and economical engine speeds, per established policies.
Plan and coordinate safety inspections of the ferry to ensure safe operation of equipment, crew safety and compliance with USCG laws and regulations.
Train and provide feedback for evaluation of the performance of marine crew.
Work with Port Captain to ensure all inspections by the USCG meet the standard (no 835s) insofar as is practicable.
Work with Port Captain to ensure vessel(s) maintain a COI inspection ready condition at all times.
Maintain and enhance our benchmark status with all inspecting agencies.
Work with Port Captain to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state and federal safety and environmental regulations to include station bill assignments.
Provide required training as needed for working with and proper disposal of hazardous waste.
Review contents of Vessel Operations Guide and Pass down Log.
Maintain radio watch and monitor VHF channels 13 and 16.
Guarantee a physically safe and environmentally sound working environment, proper tools, training, facilities and materials for all crewmembers; conduct weekly emergency drills.
Ensure that the safety of our riders and crewmembers is maximized through careful and vigorous definition, administration and enforcement of safety policies and guidelines. Coordinate emergency response.
Develop strong relationships with appropriate crewmembers and represent the Company at meetings and other functions as requested.

Valid U.S.C.G. licensed for Master of motor vessels of 100 gross tons and able to maintain

Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the World Boat Captain PAE SCORE is actively seeking a Boat Captain to support the Southern California Offshore Range (SCORE) contract, at Naval Air Station North Island in San Diego, CA
Essential Responsibilities (are not limited to): * Master and Operator-in-Charge of a 114- Range Support Craft * Overall responsibility for oversight of 7 crew as vessel safety authority with ability to work through complicated scenarios in a calm intelligent manner * Vessel scheduling working with Port Captain and Gov-t Program Manager to ensure full understanding of all mission commitments * Oversight of USCG required safety training/drills, vessel record keeping * Oversight of SCORE/PAE required operation and security training programs * Operation Safety Officer providing oversight of Mate in support of all deck operations * Interface with shore support to ensure vessel properly manned and maintained to 100% mission readiness at all times * Manual and electronic navigation with firm grasp of speed, time and distance * Understanding of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic boat systems in order to provide augmenting experience to Chief Engineer * Oversight of vessel preventative maintenance program * Vessel trim and stability * Perform non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project, selects and adapts plans, techniques, designs, or layouts, contacts personnel in related activities to resolve problems and coordinate the work, reviews, analyzes, and integrates the technical work of others * Required to train/mentor and be assisted by lower level crew persons * Analyze drawings or equipment to determine adequacy Qualification Requirements: * Must hold a minimum U.S

Coast Guard 500 GRT National Masters License, valid TWIC card, Radar Operator Unlimited, ARPA certificates

STCW certificate preferred. * Must have minimum of 5 years- experience performing as a captain of a vessel of over 100 GRT. * Must be a U.S

Citizen with the ability to obtain an Interim Security Clearance (or transfer) in a timely manner, and maintain a US Government (DoD) Secret Clearance for this position on the SCORE Contract

Desired: * Proficiency in vessel administrative procedures and comfortable with use of computer systems

Must be proficient in written and verbal English language skills. * Working knowledge of crane and deck winch operations * Experience reading depth sounder, anchoring vessels with hard tackle and sea anchors * Experience in operation of vessels in all sea state conditions with ability to make weather based safety decisions * Understanding of launch and recovery of maritime based scientific equipment or similar * Local Knowledge of Southern California Islands and coastal ports * Experience in small boat operations including launch and recovery in up to SS-3 * Must be able to swim. * Must be physically fit and capable of spending extensive day at sea in all weather conditions. * Must be able to lift 50lbs, be able to climb ladders and stairs * Knowledge of military operations is highly desirable

Education: * High School graduate or GED equivalent. * Graduation from an accredited trade school, applicable military service or proven performance gained through experience in operating a vessel at sea
