Job Description:
Sac Brew Boat is looking for a Boat Captain, Master License 25-ton for our 15 passenger party boat tours on the Sacramento River!!
What we do:
Brew Boat tours are 90 minutes where groups of 8-15 will pedal the Sacramento River waterfront adjacent to historic Old Sacramento. There are 10 pedal stations and 4 non-pedal party stations. These tours will be booked by groups celebrating birthdays, bachelor/bachelorette parties, retirements, corporate/team outings, and groups of friends and family looking to just get out on the water to have some fun. Tours does not make any bar stops while on the river (unlike our Sac Brew Bike tours). Customers are welcome to bring their own beer/wine/cider aboard the boat (limit of 3 drinks per person) and also permitted to bring snacks aboard. No hard alcohol or mixed drinks are permitted aboard the Brew Boat. We encourage customers to bring their own music to keep the party going while we pedal, cruise, and sip beverages along the way.
This is a fun, interactive experience where pedaling is encouraged, but not required. The boat is equipped with a small 10hp electric motor to help us on our cruise and to better navigate the river. There is no bathroom aboard the boat.
Job Requirements:
***US Coast Guard Master Captains 25-ton License***
Maneuvering and docking a 31 foot, pontoon style boat with a large paddlewheel on back
Inspect vessel for safe operation
Understanding of the river outflows and conditions Safely navigate waterways
Work well alongside deckhand who will be there to assist you and keep the guests entertained
Maintaining overall appearance and cleanliness of the vessel
Strong communication skills with customers- must be fun and happy!

We are seeking a part time captains for Marina del Rey. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 1-year recent captain experience. This position has an opportunity for advancement.
Our Captains have heavy public contact; therefore we are looking for individuals who take pride in their appearance and have superb guest service, and communication skills. A flexible schedule is a must; schedules include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Candidates need to be available Thursday through Sunday from late June through early September.
Position specific responsibilities:
Ensuring the safety of passengers, crew, and vessel
Proper piloting of vessel
Adhere to all United States Coast Guard rules, and regulations
Work closely with Waterbus manager, and dock attendant team members to ensure a safe, and amazing experience to our guests

Benefits include a basic uniform, discounts on food at any of our three restaurants: Mariner’s Inn, Captain Bill’s Seafood Company or the Nau-ti-Gal Waterfront Restaurant, a competitive hourly wage plus tips.
Our public and private cruises sail during the during the daytime and evening seven days per week from late April to mid-October. A ll applicants are required to work at least one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) as part of their schedule . The ability to work both weekend days is a big plus! Though many of our serving crew only work during the summer, preference is given to applicants who can work the entire season.
Cruises are two or three hours long and our serving crew is required to arrive one hour before cruise for prep and stay one hour after for clean-up.
Your job is to provide our guests with an exceptional experience during our two-and three-hour cruises. Prior to each cruise, you’ll be loading food and beverages aboard our yachts; set up our buffet serving area prior to the cruise. During the cruise, you will serve food and drinks; prepare guest checks; accept cash and credit card payments; keep the boat clean; provide our guests with information about the menu; clean up the boat and do dishes after the cruise.
Qualifications: We’re looking for people with excellent interpersonal skills who can work both independently and as part of a team. Successful servers must be reliable and should be able to work in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment with attention to detail. Our serving crew will work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays. Restaurant experience is not required; we will train the right individuals.
Due to alcohol serving regulations, our servers must be at least 18 years of age. You must be fluent in English and be honest, dependable and forthright, hold a valid driver’s license and be able to lift 40 lbs.
